Acne Treatment FAQ

Are Alma Opus acne treatments painful?

Many patients at Refining Beauty report that cosmetic acne treatments with Opus are less painful than similar solutions, like microneedling or lasers. However, we can apply a topical anesthetic to make you more comfortable upon request.

How is an Opus acne treatment done, and how long is the recovery time?

Once you are relaxed in a private treatment room, Dr. Leffingwell will direct the microplasma handpiece over the treatment areas to draw oil and dead skin cells out of your facial pores and help clear up swollen regions of acne. Following your treatment, you may have some redness or swelling for about 48 hours, but you can typically get back to your day-to-day routine right after your appointment.

How long will my Opus acne treatment results last?

Results from an Opus acne treatment will differ with each person. Based on the severity of your acne, you may need to have more acne procedures to maintain a smoother, softer complexion. Dr. Leffingwell advises continuing an appropriate home-based skin care regimen to help maintain your outcomes and reduce acne flareups.
